Kalka Mandir History 

The Kali Mata Mandir Kalka history dates back to 1764 and has a tale associated with its establishment. It is said that all the gods went to Brahma Ji after being tortured by demons; however, Brahma Ji advised all the gods to go to Mother Parvati. Then, as a result of the fight between the goddess and the demon, and the victory of good over evil, the Kalka Devi Mandir Kalka came into existence. 

It is said that Kali was worshipped in this temple by Lord Krishna and the Pandavas during Yudhishthira’s rule. Thok Brahmins and Thok Jogis are believed to have constructed the temple under Kali’s order. The mandir is also known by the names – Manokamna Siddha Peeth and Jayanti Peeth.

The Architecture of Kalka Mata Mandir Delhi 

The Kalka Devi Mandir Delhi has a unique marble exterior, with a brick-like appearance for finishing. The temple features a pyramid-shaped tower that covers its construction.

The unique structure of this Kalka Mandir Delhi includes a central chamber with 12 sides, each side measuring 24 feet and is decorated with its beautiful entrance door. These doorways open into galleries lined with marble, each gallery ending with three exterior arched doorways, totalling 36 in all.

At the heart of the Kalka Devi Ka Mandir lies a marble pedestal supporting a fine stone statue of goddess Kali, with her name in Hindi. The temple’s interior can be seen through eastern doorways, offering a clear view of the sacred environment. The Nastaʿlīq-style calligraphy can be easily seen on both the railings and the pedestal.

By Metro: You can reach the Kalka Mandir Kalka via the Kalkaji Mandir metro station. It’s just a distance of 11 minutes.

By Flight: By taking a flight to Delhi, you can take a cab or metro to the mandir. 

By Bus: The temple is 1.5KM away from the Kalka Mandir Bus Stop and hence, is easily accessible.
