Speed Up Your Passport Process With Special Acceptance Fairs

The US government has come up with a great initiative to speed up the process of passport application, especially for first-time passport holders by introducing “Special Acceptance Fairs” all around the US – from New Jersey to Florida. 

The agency has just released the new dates for June till July 6 covering locations like  Arizona, California, Florida, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina and South Carolina. The event will specifically cater to new passport applications and not passport renewals. 

“We’re holding special passport fairs all across the United States to help you get your passport more easily,” the State Department shared.

Those who want to apply for a new passport but don’t reside close to one of the locations can still do so using the current procedure. According to the State Department, the current passport processing periods are 6 to 8 weeks for normal service, and 2 to 3 weeks for quick service, and immediate service is offered by appointment for those planning to travel within 14 calendar days. Not only this, the State Department released a list of the most common errors people make when filling out a passport application. These errors include forgetting to complete certain portions of the form and not taking the required photos.
